Tuesday, November 25, 2025 - Terror police in Madrid tasered and later shot an 18-year-old suspected jihadist who shouted “Allahu Akbar” after allegedly stabbing three people in a violent street attack. The suspect also reportedly attempted to attack officers while reciting verses from the Quran following the alleged assaults in the Puente de Vallecas district of the Spanish capital.
The siege ended only after officers shot the teenager four
times when their Taser guns failed to stop him inside his flat. He was taken to
Gregorio Marañón Hospital, where he remained under police guard.
The attack occurred on Saturday after police received
reports of a man armed with a large knife. The suspect is said to have stabbed
an elderly woman, causing neck injuries, and two men — one of whom
suffered a two-inch chest wound.
Police were first alerted by the suspect’s brother, who
reportedly called to say the teen had barricaded himself inside their home with
a large knife and was acting aggressively. Officers categorised the situation
as an “Islamist terrorist incident” and deployed a specialist anti-terror and
demonstration unit to surround the building.
When police entered the flat, they tasered the suspect
twice, but he allegedly continued attempting to attack them, prompting the
officers to fire multiple shots.
Authorities said: “We want to show all our support to the
companions who acted to neutralise a radicalised young man who had attacked
three other people. It was an absolutely proportionate response.”
The suspect was also described as having been under the
influence of drugs. Police confirmed that all three stabbing victims received
medical treatment and that none of the injuries were considered
life-threatening. The investigation into the incident remained ongoing.
The attack comes just days after a separate incident in
which a driver shouting “Allahu Akbar” ploughed into ten people on a holiday
island, in what authorities described as a deliberate act involving a car
loaded with gas cannisters.
