Saturday, November 8, 2025 - Prince Harry is laughing off backlash from Canadian fans after he was spotted cheering for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the World Series and he’s now offering a light-hearted apology.
In a humorous interview with CTV News, Harry explained that
he only rooted for the Dodgers over the Toronto Blue Jays because he was “under
duress,” joking that he had been personally invited to the Dodgers’ box and
dugout by the team’s owner. “I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to
do,” he said.
He went on to apologise to Canadians, promising to wear a
Blue Jays hat “from now on,” and even offered his condolences after Toronto
lost the championship.
Harry’s support for L.A. at least paid off, the Dodgers
clinched the World Series title in Game 7 with a 5–4 win over the Jays.
The prince and Meghan Markle were among several celebrities
at the series, though their reception in the crowd was cooler compared to other
stars like Drake, Nelly Furtado, Jason Bateman, Alex Cooper and Brad Paisley.
Harry is currently in Toronto for Remembrance Day events and
used his trip to express affection for the country during a speech at the True
Patriot Love Foundation National Tribute Dinner. He reminded Canadians that the
country “will always mean a great deal” to him after all, it’s where he met
Meghan Markle, who lived in Toronto while filming Suits. The couple also made
their first public appearance together in the city during the 2017 Invictus
Games.
