45-year-old man rescued after falling into well in Oyo

Friday, November 7, 2025 - A 45-year-old man whose identify has not been revealed has been recovered from a well in Iseyin, Oyo State.

Our correspondent gathered that the man fell into the well on Wednesday, but was recovered from the well on Thursday.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.

He added that the emergency was reported at exactly 09:04hrs on Thursday, 6th November, 2025.

Akinwande in a statement that men of the agency were immediately mobilised to the scene when they were contacted.

“On getting there, it was a man of about Forty-Five (45) years of age who fell into a deep well on Wednesday night.

“Our officers quickly swung into action by applying all necessary rescued equipment, and the man was recovered from the well and handed to the team of policemen from Okutapemo Divisional Headquarters, Iseyin”.
