Saturday, September 20, 2025 - The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two 14-year-old boys for alleged conspiracy and r3pe in Akko Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who
disclosed this in a statement on Friday, September 19, 2025 said the suspects,
Danladi Babangida and Samaila Sulaiman, r3ped a 13-year-old girl inside a bush
while she was fetching firewood.
According to the PPRO, the arrest followed a complaint filed
with the police by the victim's father against the suspects.
“On the
12/09/2025 at about 1216hrs, information received from one Muhammad Tukur ‘M’
of Lergo Hamida village Pindiga, Akko LGA Gombe State that on the 10/09/2025 at
about 1304hrs one Danladi Babangida ‘M’ age 14years old and one Samaila
Sulaiman ‘M’ age 14 years old, both herders by occupation and both from Kombani
Isa village Pindiga, Akko LGA Gombe State who conspired and forcefully had
canal knowledge with his daughter one Hauwa’u Muhammad ‘F’ age 13years old of
the same address inside bush near Lergo Hamida while fetching firewood,” the
statement read.
"Upon
receipt of the complaint, Police rushed and visited the scene of the crime, the
above mentioned suspects were arrested, the suspects confessed to the crime and
all parties were taken to General Hospital, Kashere for medical examination.
Case is with Gender Unit State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet
investigation.
“The command
strongly condemns all forms of sexual violence and urges the residents to
promptly report cases for swift action.”
