Tuesday, September 2, 2025 - The Kano State Police Command has arrested 107 suspects involved in various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, illicit drug trafficking, thuggery, motorcycle and motor vehicle theft and other social vices.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, made this
known while giving an update on the current security situation in the state and
recent operational successes at the command’s headquarters, Bompai, on Monday,
September 1, 2025
He said the suspects who were apprehended within last month, included eight armed robbers, eight kidnappers, three human trafficking suspects and 14 suspected drug dealers.
Others were two suspected motor vehicle thieves, six
motorcycle thieves, five suspected thieves and 61 suspected thugs (Yan-Daba)
while one human trafficking victim was rescued.
“Within the month of August 2025, the Command achieved
notable operational successes, including the arrest of one hundred and seven
(107) suspects involved in various major crimes such as armed robbery, illicit
drug trafficking, motor vehicle and motorcycle theft, thuggery, and other
social vices,” the CP stated.
A summary of these achievements is as follows: Eight Armed Robbery Suspects. Eight Suspected Kidnappers. Three (3) Human Trafficking Suspects, Fourteen (14) Suspected Drug Dealers. Two (2) Suspected Motor Vehicle Thieves. Six (6) Motorcycle Thieves. Five (5) Suspected Thieves. Sixty-One (61) Suspected Thugs (Yan-Daba)

Fifty-eight (458) Wraps of Dried Leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
vii. Two Hundred and Eleven (211) Pieces of suspected Rubber
Solutions.
viii. Two Hundred and Fifty-seven (257) Bottles of suspected
Suck & Die
xi. Five (5) Packets, Twenty-one (21) Pieces of suspected
Exol Tablets.
x. Twenty (20) Sachets, Thirteen (13) Pieces of suspected
Diazepam Tablets.

“From the launch of 'Operation Kukan Kura' on 1st July, 2025
to date, a total of four hundred and seventy-three (473) dangerous weapons, and
a large quantity of illicit drugs have been recovered,” the CP stated.
