Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - Barely two days after gunmen killed three farmers and abducted several others on the outskirts of Janbako in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, armed bandits have launched another attack on the same community.
The latest assault, which occurred in the early hours of
Tuesday, claimed the life of one resident and left another injured.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed Janbako in large
numbers, shooting sporadically and causing panic before retreating into the
bush.
The renewed violence follows Sunday’s attack on farmers
outside the community, where three people were killed, one injured, and several
others abducted while working on their farmlands.
A local source confirmed that the assailants arrived on
motorcycles and opened fire on unsuspecting residents before whisking some
victims away.
Confirming the incident, security analyst Bakatsine wrote in
a post on X:
“Earlier today, bandits attacked Janbako community in
Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing one person and injuring
another.
This comes just two days after a similar attack on the outskirts, where three
farmers were killed, several injured and many abducted.” the post read.
