Tuesday, July 8, 2025 - Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract until 2028.
The Nigeria full-back had one year left on his previous
contract but decided to extend his contract until 2028.
The 28-year-old played a key role in helping Forest finish
seventh in the Premier League last season to qualify for the Europa Conference
League play-offs.
“I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey
with the club,” Aina said in a Forest news release. “It’s always felt like a
home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing
for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis added: "Ola has skill,
determination, and character in abundance.
"He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from
everyone associated with Forest.
"He has had a big influence since his arrival here and
we look forward to continuing that journey together to help us achieve
incredible things."
Aina, who started his career at Chelsea, joined from Torino
on a free transfer two years ago.
He joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal after his
contract expired at Serie A side Torino, and featured regularly at left-back in
his first campaign as Forest escaped relegation to finish 17th in the league.
Forest activated the option to extend Aina’s contract by an
additional year in May 2024 and the Nigeria international has continued to be
an important part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s defence, this time on the right
flank.
