Thursday, July 31, 2025 - A petroleum tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petroleum has tumbled in Oyo State.
The incident occurred opposite AIB Filling Station at
Eleyele area in Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday.
Sources narrated that the tanker with registration number
T21044LA (Lagos) swerved off the road.
The tanker fell into a nearby ditch, leading to its content
gushing out profusely.
It was learnt that the men of Oyo State Fire Service were
informed immediately after the incident occurred.
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande
confirmed the incident in a statement
made available on Wednesday, said men of the agency were immediately mobilised
to the scene of the incident.
“Immediately the address was taken, A crew of Firemen led by
CFS Olayiwola promptly deployed to the scene of the incident and on getting
there it was a trailer tanker with registration No. T21044LA (LAGOS) loaded
with 45,000 litres capacity of petroleum motor spirit (PMS) swerved off the
road into a nearby ditch and content gushing out profusely.
“The petrol trailer tanker has been removed from the road
and normal vehicular movement has been restored and everyday activities are
going on properly,” he said.
The incident comes a few days after a similar one in Ogbomoso
last week.
