Tuesday, July 1, 2025 - Two people have been confirmed dead and four others abducted after armed bandits attacked Gidan Tamba village in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a post on Monday by security analyst Zagazola
Makama on X, the incident happened on the night of June 29 around 10:45 p.m.
when the attackers attacked the quiet village and started shooting randomly.
“One of the victims, 60-year-old Ashiru Shafiu, was
reportedly shot and died on the spot.
“Another resident, Suleiman Yusuf, also aged 60, collapsed
from shock during the raid and later died of a heart attack. Both men were
rushed to the General Hospital in Kankara, where doctors confirmed them dead,”
Makama wrote.
Makama said four villagers were also kidnapped by the
bandits during the attack.
The abducted persons have been identified as Kazeem Nuhu,
Shafiu Aliyu, Rama Dan Mallam, and Ummah Abdulwahab.
The attackers were said to have arrived on motorcycles and
escaped into the forest with their captives shortly after the assault.
