Saturday, June 28, 2025 - Super Falcons first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has completed a landmark transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion Women, marking a major step in her career and a proud moment for Nigerian women’s football.
The 23-year-old joins the English side from Paris FC
Féminines in France, where she established herself as one of Europe’s top young
goalkeepers. This move makes Nnadozie the first Nigerian female goalkeeper to
sign for a Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) club, underlining her status as
a trailblazer for African women in the sport.
During her time in France, Nnadozie made over 100
appearances for Paris FC, helped secure consecutive Champions League
qualifications, and shone for Nigeria at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, notably
with a decisive penalty save against Canada.
Brighton Women’s head coach Dario Vidosic hailed the
signing, saying:
“We’re
thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She’s a talented and commanding
goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.”
Nnadozie joins a growing list of Super Falcons stars
featuring in Europe’s top leagues and is expected to play a key role in
strengthening Brighton’s defense ahead of the 2025/26 season.
