Sunday, June 29, 2025 - Controversial Nigerian musician, Speed Darlington, is once again stirring conversations online — this time over religion and Africa’s prayer culture.
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Speedy questioned
why Africans always call on the “God of Israel,” even when Israel itself is
seeking help from America in times of crisis.
“Africa
always pray, ‘God of Israel, God of Israel,’” he said. “But right now, Israel
is calling USA. Why didn’t the God of Israel help his own country?”
Mocking the situation further, he added:
“But Africa
go dey shout, ‘raka shaka, puskete, mima,’ while Israel dey look for help. They
play, blackie, they play.”
He accompanied the video with a sharp caption:
“Everything
cannot be achieved from prayers. Our destiny is in our hands.”
