Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sanchez are kicking off their
wedding week in the most Jeff-and-Lauren way possible — with a wild foam party
on a $500 million superyacht, completely unbothered by the growing
anti-capitalist protests brewing in Venice.
As anti-Bezos banners fill the Italian city and protestors
threaten to “block the canals”, the power couple took a pitstop off the island
of Cres in Croatia to party it up on Bezos’ luxury yacht, Koru.
According to Daily Mail, pictures from the Sunday bash show Bezos and Sanchez drenched in soap suds, surrounded by friends and sunshine, living it up in swimwear — with Lauren rocking a black and red ombre bikini, and Bezos opting for simple blue trunks. The two were spotted sharing sweet moments amidst the chaos, hugging, laughing, and clearly enjoying the final days before their wedding
But the foam fest wasn’t just about lovebirds’ PDA — there
was also a “Happy Birthday” banner on board, as sources say the celebration
doubled as a birthday party for Lauren’s 19-year-old son, Evan.
Young guests were seen diving off the yacht, paddleboarding, and cruising back and forth to shore on smaller boats. Others kicked back on sun loungers, while a brief visit from a police boat didn’t seem to disturb the vibe — they reportedly came and went without issue.
The couple, who got engaged more than two years ago aboard
the same yacht near Cannes, are now headed for Venice where their June 27
wedding is expected to span a week and cost between $15 to $20 million.
But not everyone is thrilled.
Posters reading “No space for Bezos” and “Veniceland: A playground fit for an oligarch” have popped up all over Venice. Locals and activists are reportedly planning strategic disruptions to delay or block key wedding events.
Federica Toninello, one of the protest organizers, told the New York Times that her team has “moles” feeding them insider details about the wedding itinerary, including a major event planned at Misericordia.
Her message? “Bezos will never get to the Misericordia.”
With an estimated 200 celebrity guests expected, including high-profile names from tech, fashion, and entertainment, all eyes are now on Venice.
