Monday, April 7, 2025 - A man in New York City has been accused of attacking four underage girls, at least some of whom are believed to be his relatives, in a violent incident that left blood spattered throughout a Brooklyn apartment, according to the NYPD. Disturbing footage shows the man being carried out of the building by multiple officers, face-down with his arms held behind his back, before being placed on a gurney and strapped in. He was alive at the time but remains in critical condition at the hospital.
The NYPD said the incident began when an 11-year-old girl
made a call to 911 early in the morning, reporting that her uncle had stabbed
her and her siblings. Responding officers rushed to the residence and, upon
entering the building, heard screaming from behind a door.
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said
officers forcibly entered the apartment and were met with a horrifying scene. A
man stood inside holding a meat cleaver soaked in blood, while blood covered
the walls and floor. Officers ordered him repeatedly to drop the weapon, but he
allegedly refused and advanced toward them. Officers then opened fire, shooting
the man and ending what Commissioner Tisch described as a serious threat.
The NYPD released photos of the bloodied meat cleaver along
with a large kitchen knife also stained with blood. It remains unclear who used
the second knife during the attack.
Images obtained by the New York Post show a
person believed to be one of the victims, drenched in blood from head to toe
but still able to stand.
According to police, four girls aged 16, 13, 11, and 8 were
transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. All are alive and expected to
recover. A fifth child, a young boy who was also in the apartment, was unharmed
and reportedly let officers into the building.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the
motive behind the attack and the precise relationship between the suspect and
the victims.
