Friday, April 25, 2025 - The Police Command in Niger has arrested a 23-year-old prime suspect in connection with the death of Muhammed Amore.
This was revealed in a statement issued by the Command’s
Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Wednesday in Minna.
The incident took place on Sunday around 10:45 p.m. in

According to the statement, the deceased, along with members
of a vigilance group, attempted to arrest suspected miscreants in the area when
one of the suspects fatally stabbed him and fled the scene.
“In the course of the operation, one of the suspects stabbed
the victim to death and fled the scene,” Abiodun said.
After conducting a follow-up investigation, police
operatives from the GRA Division arrested the prime suspect on Tuesday at
around 10:00 p.m.
“He is said to be a chocolate seller at Kure Market, Minna,
originally from Fadikpe in Katsina State.”
Abiodun added that another suspect, aged 25, also from
Katsina State, who is a shoe vendor using a wheelbarrow at the same market, had
also been detained.
The spokesperson further explained that in his confessional
statement, the first suspect allegedly named the shoe vendor as an accomplice.
Abiodun noted that the suspects were smoking cannabis by the
riverside when the vigilance group members approached to arrest them.
He admitted that the deceased held onto him, and in his
attempt to escape, he stabbed Amore in the upper left side of the chest with a
shoemaker’s needle.
Preliminary investigations revealed that after the incident,
the shoe vendor fled to Abuja.
However, with the help of community members and relatives,
he was apprehended.
