Wednesday, March 26, 2025 - The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of an armed robbery suspect as well as the recovery of a stolen vehicle and other incriminating items.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer,
SP Ramhan Nansel, the arrest followed a distress call received in the early
hours of March 25, 2025, reporting an armed robbery incident at a residential
area behind the stadium in Keffi.
According to Nansel, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed,
directed operatives to track and intercept the fleeing suspects.
He stated that though the robbers had initially escaped, police officers strategically pursued them along their suspected route.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, the stolen Ash-coloured Toyota
Camry with registration number ABC 621 CV, which the robbers had snatched at
gunpoint, was involved in a fatal crash at Bola Junction along the Keffi-Abuja
Expressway as they attempted to evade arrest.
“Following the accident, police operatives from Goshen City Division
rushed to the scene and immediately transported the five occupants of the
crashed vehicle to Johepz Medical Centre, Kuchikau, for urgent medical
attention.
“Sadly, four of the suspects were confirmed dead, while the sole
survivor, identified as Hussaini Mohammed, 25, of Uke, was arrested and is
currently receiving medical treatment under police surveillance.” Nansel
stated.
Nansel further added that a preliminary investigation confirmed that the
stolen Toyota Camry belonged to one Udochi Emeka, a resident of Keffi.
