Most divorce cases involve couples who have been married for less than 3 or 4 years - Lawyer says marriages don't last anymore.

Monday, March 10, 2025 - A South African lawyer, Akani Mongwane, has expressed concern over the increasing rate of divorce among couples. 

According to the lawyer, most of the divorce cases he is handling involve couples who have been married for 3 or 4 years. 

“Most divorce cases that I'm handling, most couples have been married for less than 3 or 4 years. It's so bad. Marriages do not last any more. Currently I have more than 400 divorce cases that I'm handling. But irregardless, it is not worth it to stay in a marriage where there's no love, respect, compassion, commitment and communication,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday.
