Troops arrest terrorists' logistics supplier in Taraba

Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) in Taraba State have arrested three suspected bandits and a logistics supplier linked to terrorists within and outside the state.

 Acting Assistant Director, 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, Captain Olubodunde Oni, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said the arrest followed credible intelligence reports.

 He said a special operation was launched on October 7, 2024, in Andami, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state, leading to the arrest of the suspected bandits at Jeb-Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau states.

 Captain Oni gave the names of the suspects as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello and Musa Adamu.

 He stated further that the suspects were behind a series of criminal activities, including armed robbery, kidnappings, and violent assaults on communities in the area.



 “These arrests come as part of a broader effort of 6 Brigade to curb the rising wave of inter-state criminality within its Area of Operations.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been active in the state for several years and Investigation is in progress to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate,” he said.

The Army spokesperson also revealed that a key terrorists’ logistics supplier working with a notorious terrorist group in Taraba State was arrested in a separate operation in Bunka village of Lau LGA.

He alleged that the suspect, one Musa Inusa, provided essential supplies and other materials to terrorists operating in the area.

“His arrest is expected to disrupt the supply chain and further weaken the operational capabilities of the group,” Captain Oni added.
