One killed, several vehicles burnt as ISWAP militants attack Yobe town

 -Suspected Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) insurgents launched an attack on Geidam town in Yobe state, leaving one person dead. 

 According to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, intelligence sources disclosed that the attack occurred around 3:30 a.m on Saturday, October 5, 2024, when the insurgents stormed the town, unleashing explosives indiscriminately.

 Two vehicles belonging to customs officials were torched during the assault. In a disturbing act of desecration, the attackers also set fire to the grave of Khalifah Ayiloma, located in Kolori Ward.

 The residence of Dahiru Muhammadu, a 60-year-old night watchman stationed opposite Geidam Polytechnic, was also attacked. 

 Muhammadu sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was rushed to Geidam Specialist Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
