Sunday, August 11, 2024 - Heavy rain and wind storms have destroyed no fewer than 58 nomadic schools in Jigawa State.
Executive Secretary, Nomadic Education, Hajia Ramatu Muhammed
disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse.
She said the incident occurred as a result of heavy rainfall and windstorm that raised havoc in most of the affected areas.
She explained that most of the schools were destroyed by heavy
rainfall and windstorm, affecting teaching and learning in the affected areas.
The agency’s director of works, Alh. Garba Hamza said Jigawa State
government would spend the sum of N392.8million to bring back the nomadic
schools to their full function.
He then appealed to the state government to increase their annual
budgetary allocation for the agency to take proactive measure in providing
quick attention when such disaster occurred.
