Saturday, June 29, 2024 -Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has reassured the Muslim community in Ilesa that the ongoing road dualization project will not impact the central mosque.

 He noted that he's standing by the promise he made during an interactive session with local residents.

In a statement released on Friday, June 28, Governor Adeleke's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, emphasized that the Ilesa Muslim community should have no concerns, confirming that the mosque will remain intact throughout the construction process.

The statement read;

“Governor Adeleke has received the plea of the Ijesa Muslim leaders and has directed that fresh assurance be given that the mosque is not billed for demolition in the ongoing road dualization.

“The  muslim ummah should not entertain any fear as the mosque remains intact. Only the extended canopies will be affected, not the main building as earlier indicated.

“The Governor has also directed officials of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to interface with the Muslim leaders on the subject matter.''
