Two suspected cult-related killers in Anambra Community in police custody, authorities report

The Anambra State Police Command has said that its officers arrested two ring leaders of the cult groups responsible for recent killings in Ihiala in the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who made this known in a statement issued in Awka, the state capital on Monday, said the arrest was made during a special operation spearheaded by the Police Crack Squad deployed to Ihiala by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye.

He said 25-year-old Chitana Oha, popularly known as ‘Kill and Bury’ was arrested during the operation to provide security for the people of Ihiala during and after the Christmas and New Year festive period.

Ikenga stated that during the operation, 24-year-old Emmanuel Ifeanyi Okonkwo, popularly known as ‘Good and Bad’ was also arrested.

The police spokesperson said that both suspects were arrested at their hideout in the Okija area of Ihiala.

He said, “The Commissioner of Police who vowed to end the cult-related killings in Ihiala the same way he stamped out the menace in Awka Capital City has directed the Crack Squad to go all out against the cultists and clip their wings.

“He assured members of the public that their security will continue to be the topmost priority of the Command.”
