Friday, November 6, 2026 - Bandits have attacked Maga town in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing one person, abducting several residents and rustling a large number of cattle.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X by
Bakastine, a conflict reporter in the North-West region.
According to Bakastine, the attackers invaded the community
last night.
The whereabouts of the abducted residents remain unknown, as
there has been no report of contact with the abductors or any demand for
ransom.
Reacting to the attack, Bakastine questioned the continued
exposure of rural communities to insecurity, saying, “How can rural communities
continue to live in fear of these attacks, and what more needs to be done to
strengthen security and protect lives and property in these vulnerable areas?”
The latest attack has renewed concerns over the security of
rural communities in Kebbi State, particularly the safety of residents and
their property amid repeated attacks by armed groups.
At the time of filing this report, the Kebbi State Police
Command was yet to issue an official statement on the attack or confirm the
number of people abducted.
