Saturday, October 17, 2026 -Real Madrid has called for LaLiga president Javier Tebas to resign from his posts as LaLiga president and vice president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
The club issued the demand in a statement on its official
account on Friday.
It said his remarks were "absolutely intolerable and
extraordinarily serious."
Tebas had written that Real Madrid's management
"directs an orchestra of spokespersons and Real Madrid TV leads the
singing."
He compared the club's methods to propaganda techniques used
by Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's propaganda minister, including repetition,
creating an enemy and bending facts to fit a story.
He said he was not referring to Nazi ideology or the club's
fans.
Real Madrid rejected that explanation.
It called the comparison offensive and said Tebas had shown
a lack of neutrality and impartiality.
The club also linked the row to the Negreira case, in which
Barcelona made payments over several years to a former vice president of the
refereeing committee.
Real Madrid says it has asked UEFA for a full investigation into those payments and wants a wider overhaul of refereeing and federation structures.
