Thursday, October 29, 2026 - A video of actress Doris Ogala in court after she was remanded in Ikoyi prison, has surfaced online.
A Federal High Court has ordered the remand of
Nollywood actress and politician Doris Ogala at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre
following her arraignment over allegations of cyberbullying, harassment, and
attempted extortion. The charges stem from a legal dispute initiated by her
former partner, prominent clergyman Pastor Chris Okafor.
Pastor Okafor dragged the actress to court after she
launched a series of social media campaigns against him following his
announcement to marry another woman. The prosecution alleges Ogala used her
digital platforms to spread false information, videos, and intimate materials
to cause the cleric emotional distress and reputational damage.
A video circulating online captured dramatic scenes in the
courtroom shortly after the remand order was issued. Ogala stood up to
challenge court authorities, loudly protesting her detention before officials
escorted her out.
“I want to say something," Ogala shouted. "The
court is a place for the common man to talk. My boyfriend wants to weaponize
the law against me. He wanted to remand me in prison—he has gotten it.”
Following the court session, Ogala took to her Instagram
page to publish a list of high-profile individuals and prominent general
overseers whom she claims orchestrated her remand to prevent her from revealing
their secrets. The actress will remain in custody pending the scheduling and
determination of her formal bail hearing.
