Tuesday, October 27 2026 - Singer and half of the defunct P-Square duo, Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has explained that transitioning into a solo artist after the group's split wasn't difficult for him.
Speaking in a recent interview with Lun Lifestyle TV,
Rudeboy said that as a solo artist, he is still doing what he was doing at
P-Square, claiming that he was the songwriter, producer and singer of the
group.
Paul said being a solo artist is even less stressful for
him.
He said, "Transitioning into a solo artist was less
stressful for me. Because it was the same me that was doing everything in the
group, with due respect.
"I am the producer, writer, and singer. So, moving as a
group, it is still the same thing. As I said, being a solo artist is less
stressful. Inasmuch as I have a team, nobody is going to question me. I have
more creative control. It is easy for me."
P-Square has broken up twice: first in 2017 (after initial
tensions in 2016), and most recently in 2024 after a 2021 reunion.
