Monday, October 26 2026 - The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a popular TikToker Amani Ishaq alongside two other women over allegations that they shared videos violating moral standards on social media.
The Deputy Commander of the Board, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen,
confirmed the arrests in a statement on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The three women were identified as Amani Ishaq, Hauwa Khamis
and Sa’adatu Muhammad.
According to the statement, the suspects were arraigned
before Magistrate Court No. 5 at Court Road, Kano.
The board said the case is ongoing, with investigations
continuing to determine the next course of action.
Hisbah specifically accused Amani Ishaq of posting dance
videos on TikTok that allegedly contain content contrary to proper upbringing
and the teachings of Islam.
The board said the videos were considered offensive to
public morality and inconsistent with the values it enforces in the
state.
The arrest is part of the Kano State Hisbah Board’s
continued enforcement of its moral and religious regulations, particularly
against content it considers obscene or contrary to Islamic teachings.
The board had earlier arrested a TikTok content creator over
alleged obscene videos after intelligence indicated that he had entered
Kano.
The Deputy Commander-General said the suspect was
taken into custody while investigations continue.
