Saturday, October 24, 2026 -The Gombe State House of Assembly has unanimously supported the establishment of state police, aligning its position with that of the National Assembly.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information and
member Ad Hoc Committee on State Police, Musa Buba, disclosed this shortly
after the lawmakers reached the decision, on Thursday.
Buba, who also serves as the Chief Whip of the Assembly,
said the House had adopted the position in support of establishing state
police.
“We’ve passed it just now. Thus, we unanimously concurred
with the position of the National Assembly. In other words, we collectively
supported the establishment of state police,” he said.
