Thursday, September 24, 2026 - The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has honoured three of its officers for outstanding performance and commitment to public service.
The agency’s Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment
Department, Adebayo Taofiq, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The recipients—Ajayi Bembe Babatunde, Zonal Head, Zone B;
Adebanjo Alade, Comptroller, Apapa; and Age Luqman, Zonal Head,
Bariga/Iyana-Oworo—received the “Award of Outstanding Exemplary Performance.”
Taofiq said the officers were recognised for their
dedication to duty, professionalism and commitment to their responsibilities
within the authority.
According to him, the organisers said the award was aimed at recognising public officers whose diligence, integrity and conscientious service contribute to institutional objectives and the broader public interest.
Speaking during the presentation, the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, appreciated City Herald Magazine for recognising the efforts of personnel of the authority.
Bakare-Oki said the recognition affirmed the efforts of
LASTMA personnel who work under demanding conditions to manage traffic, promote
road safety and improve the motoring experience in Lagos.
He said, “Such recognition constitutes a significant
affirmation of the painstaking efforts of LASTMA personnel who operate daily
under demanding circumstances to facilitate seamless traffic management,
promote road safety, and enhance the motoring experience across Lagos.”
The general manager said recognising individual excellence
would further strengthen the authority’s commitment to professionalism,
accountability, discipline and public service.
He added that the three recipients had distinguished
themselves through diligence and commitment, stressing that excellence in
public service was measured not only by assuming responsibility but also by the
quality, integrity and impact of its execution.
Bakare-Oki expressed optimism that the recognition would
motivate other officers to rededicate themselves to selfless service,
professional probity, operational excellence and commitment to the public good.
