Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - Some area boys in Lagos have staged a protest against the establishment of an FBI office in Nigeria.
In a video shared online, protesters were seen carrying
placards while one man repeatedly chanted into a microphone, “Say no to FBI
office in Nigeria.”
“What have Nigerian youths done to you that you are
oppressing them?” he asked.
Protesters questioned why a U.S. federal agency is operating
on Nigerian soil, arguing it compromises national sovereignty. They also
accused the agency of disproportionately targeting youths while the country
faces larger domestic security issues like banditry.
They said any Nigerians accused of crimes should face
the domestic judicial system rather than foreign extradition.
