Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 12 civilians during separate operations against terrorists in Kaura Namoda and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
The operations were carried out on Monday, according to
the Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel
Aliyu Danja.
Danja said troops first responded to a distress call after
terrorists invaded a residence at Tsohon Tasha in Kaura Namoda Local Government
Area.
He said the troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to
abandon six abducted civilians and escape across a nearby river.
“The six victims were rescued and later taken to safety
before being reunited with their families,” the statement said.
In a separate operation in Tsafe Local Government Area,
troops monitoring activities along the Main Supply Route spotted terrorists
attempting to intercept a Sharon vehicle at Kwanoni Village.
According to Danja, the troops quickly moved to the area and
engaged the terrorists.
“The terrorists were forced to abandon the attack and flee
into a nearby bush, allowing the troops to rescue six more civilians,” the
statement added.
