Monday, September 7, 2026 - Legendary footballers, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will line up for the same team for the first time ever later this year.
The world superstars have gone head-to-head over the years
while at the top of the game with Barcelona and Real
Madrid.
With Messi now plying his trade in the United States with
Inter Miami and Cristiano Ronaldo playing in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr, fans
might be able to see them play together.
The two players are expected to share a dressing room as
Tevez, a former teammate of both players, plans to invite them to his
testimonial match in December.
'Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be there,' promised
Tevez.
'I'll go pick them myself if I have to. I have both of them
on WhatsApp.'
Tevez hung up his boots back in 2021 but is yet to host a
celebratory match to honour his career despite achieving great success with the
likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Boca Juniors.
Juan Roman Riquelme has granted Tevez his wish of hosting
his testimonial match at Boca Juniors' legendary La Bombonera Stadium,
according to A Bola.
And both Messi and Ronaldo are set to top the guest list of
stars taking part, along with Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Andrea Pirlo and
Gianluigi Buffon.
Messi, who retired from international duty with Argentina on
Monday, represented his country alongside Tevez between 2005 and 2015.
Ronaldo and Tevez formed a deadly three-pronged attack
alongside Rooney during the Argentine's two-year spell at Man United‘a Old
Trafford between 2007 and 2009.
They won back-to-back Premier League titles as well as the
Champions League, League Cup and Club World Cup.
