Gunmen kidnap Benue medical director Dr. JONAH OGBAJI

Thursday, September 24, 2026 - Gunmen have abducted Dr. Jonah Ogbaji, the Medical Director of Multicare Hospital, Makurdi, Benue State. 

Dr. Ogbaji was reportedly abducted at about 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 while attending to patients at the hospital.

It was gathered that the suspected abductors arrived at the hospital in a Toyota Sienna vehicle and whisked the medical director away to an unknown destination. 

Ukan Kurugh, who confirmed the incident, said his daughter contacted him shortly after the incident and disclosed that the family had visited several police stations across Makurdi in an effort to establish his whereabouts.

However, the family was yet to receive information on the location or condition of the medical doctor as of the time of filing this report.

The incident has prompted calls on security agencies to urgently intervene and intensify efforts to locate Dr. Ogbaji and secure his safe return.
