Thursday, September 10, 2026 - The owner of a Florida dog daycare has been arrested after employees discovered a hidden camera inside a bathroom at the business, authorities said.
Donald Hemphill, owner of Dog Dayz Inn, was charged after
the camera was found concealed inside an electrical outlet. According to the
Volusia Sheriff’s Office, its Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation
following the discovery.
Authorities allege that Hemphill admitted during the
investigation that he had installed the camera about four or five months
earlier. Investigators said they recovered multiple videos showing unsuspecting
female victims in “stages of undress.” The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said one of
the people allegedly recorded was a child.
Hemphill has been charged with 10 counts of digital
voyeurism and 11 counts of video voyeurism of a child. According to the
sheriff’s office, Hemphill is being held without bond. The charges against
Hemphill are allegations and have not been established by a court.
