Monday, September 28, 2026 - An explosion occurred at a cooking gas plant in Liberty Junction, Byazhin, in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday, September 25.
Preliminary investigations by the Police team revealed that
the fire outbreak was caused by the driver of an unregistered Toyota 4Runner
Jeep, who was driving against traffic (one-way). The driver reportedly lost
control of the vehicle and crashed into the nearby cooking gas plant, causing
an explosion that engulfed nearby shops and other properties. The driver and
occupants fled the scene immediately.
Thankfully, no casualties were recorded.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, SP Josephine Adeh,
spokesperson of the command, said efforts are being made to arrest the erring
driver,
