
Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked Zaranga
village in the Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, with many people
feared killed and several others reportedly missing.
The attack is siad to have occurred in the early hours of
Monday, September 7, when the insurgents invaded the community, shooting
residents and setting houses ablaze.
Residents of the village said at least 11 bodies had been
recovered following the attack, while search teams and security personnel were
still combing nearby forests for residents who remained missing.
“For now, 11
de@d bodies have been recovered. Many people are still missing. Search teams
and security personnel are in the forest searching for the missing people,” he
said
The resident said the attackers stormed the community in the
early hours of the morning, leaving residents scrambling for safety as gunshots
rang out across the village.
