Wednesday, August 12, 2026 - Gunmen have k!lled a pastor identified as Prince Miefah Wilson in Rivers State.
It was gathered that Wilson was m8rdered by unknown
assailants around the Ogoni axis of Nonwa Town, in Tai Local Government Area of
the state.
The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Ngo Clan, condemned the m8rder
in a statement issued on Monday, August 10, 2026, describing it as barbaric and
an affront to the sanctity of human life.
In the statement signed by its chairman, Comr. Destiny
Minabelem Ijah and Secretary, Comr. M. F. Awaji, Esq, the group called for an
urgent investigation into the m8rder.
“The Executive and entire members of Ijaw Youth Council,
IYC, Ngo Clan under the leadership of Comr. Destiny Minabelem Ijah received
with deep shock, sadness, and condemnation the news of the gruesome and
mysterious d3ath of our son, Pastor Prince Miefah Wilson” the statement read.
"We were reliably informed that Pastor Prince was
killed in mysterious circumstances around the Ogoni axis of Nonwa in Tai LGA,
Rivers State. His k!llers remain unknown and are still at large.
"This dastardly act is not only barbaric but an affront
to the sanctity of human life and to the peace-loving people of Ijaw Nation.
Pastor Prince Miefah Wilson was a man of God, a peace advocate, and a proud son
of Ngo Town in Ngo Clan whose life was dedicated to service and to God.
"We condemn in strong terms this senseless k!lling, for
there can be no justification for the taking of a life in such a manner.
"In the same vein, we commiserate with the immediate
family, loved ones, the Church, and the entire Ngo Clan over this irreplaceable
loss. We pray that the Almighty God grants you the fortitude to bear this pain.
We stand with you in this moment of grief.
"May we also use this medium to call on the Nigeria
Police Force, DSS, and all sister security agencies to as a matter of urgency
swing into action, conduct a thorough and transparent investigation, and ensure
that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are fished out and made to face the
full wrath of the law.
"We further call for calm, as we urge all youths of Ngo
Clan and well-meaning Nigerians not to take the law into their hands. We must
not allow grief to degenerate into crisis. We are already engaging stakeholders
to de-escalate rising tension in order to avert any possible breakdown of peace
in the area.
"We believe that justice delayed is justice denied. We
will not rest until those behind this m8rder are arrested and prosecuted.
“May the soul of Pastor Prince Miefah Wilson rest in perfect
peace. Amen.”
