Saturday, August 15, 2026 - A Nigerian man has sparked a debate on social media after sharing his take on paternity fraud.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the man
declared that he would continue to love and claim any child he raised, even if
a DNA test proved the child belonged to his wife's ex-partner.
During his address, the man recounted a real-life situation
involving an acquaintance who discovered that a daughter born during his
marriage was not biologically his. According to the speaker, the biological
father later surfaced at the family’s home to demand custody of the little
girl. To protect his own peace of mind, the acquaintance chose to skip a DNA
test entirely. Instead, he chose to love the girl unconditionally and
eventually willed a portion of his properties to her.
Inspired by this scenario, the speaker affirmed that if he
ever found himself in a similar situation, his love for the child would remain
unchanged.
‘’I do not
pray for things like this to happen to me \, I am saying it categorically:
there is nothing in this world that would make go and conduct a DNA on the kids
that I already love. If that child belongs to the other person, so be it but in
my mind and till I go to heaven, that child remains my child. Doing that DNA
might cause greater damage,'' he said
