“My life is in danger” Woman accuses husband of threatening to kill her but says she can't leave because it's a "taboo" in her tradition

Monday, June 6, 2026 - A married Nigerian woman has alleged that her life is in danger in her marriage but she can't just leave because it is a taboo in her culture. 

The woman took to Facebook to claim that her husband has seized her properties, claiming they are his and has also threatened to k!ll her. 

Ifeoma Best alleged that she is ready to leave the marriage and has asked him to divorce her and settle her but he has refused to do so. 

According to her, it is forbidden for a married woman from her culture to run away from her home when her husband has not sent her packing. 

As a result, she claims she is stuck in the marriage and risks losing her life in it. 

She added that if people stop hearing from her or anything happens, her husband should be held responsible.

She wrote on Facebook: 

"To the General Public. I’m here to Cry out Again that my life is in Danger! Anytime you Stop hearing from Me. Please Hold Mr Sopuruchi Accountable! 

"We both have agreed not to marry again. I asked him to settle me for damages and investment in this marriage he refused. Because I spent Alot in this marriage and whilst he didn’t. He is busy Claiming other of my Properties saying that he bought it.  I have asked him to give me Prove which he couldn’t. 

"I am here to let the public to know that Sopuruchi is threatening my life to lock me up or Kpai me according to him nothing will happen because he says that no one will come for my rescue!!. 

"As a liar he is. If you are his friend whatever he tell you. Kindly ask him for evidence. Then come to me I’m open to show you my own evidence. He threatened to take me to court which I have dared him to do so that i will claim my damages there UPtil now I have not see any law suit rather he said I must leave his house if not he will kpai me. 

"And I asked, did I jump from fence? Was there no process before he married me including in court? Let him come down and desolve the marriage in court and traditionally. 

"I can’t leave his house because it’s a taboo for a married woman to run away from home when your hubby have not sent you pack! There is a process and that must be Done!. 

"I sold my Property and you are claiming that it’s yours. If it’s yours Show us the evidence that it’s yours and I will show mine. Take me anywhere and I will shut you with truth!!. 

"I am Publicly Challenging him to take me to Court so that I will claim my damages!!. 

I’m not other women that you use and Dump… You must pay me my damages or you kpai me!!. 

"I’m not even talking about the threat of my nud£ you said you will expose so that I will vanish from social media or commit Ty suciuude!!. I am Double Daring you on that!!. 

"I’m not a coward. I came to live and build with you only for me to get extorted which I will never let go!. 

"If Anything happens to me. Hold Sopuruchi Accountable!!.

“Since he doesn’t want to listen to his Siblings and Villagers to settle me. That’s why I’m bringing it here.. trying to set me up again!!. My life is in danger in my Husband House!!. I seized to be his Wife any day court desolate our marriage. Which I am wanting him to take me to court!!.”
