Monday, June 22, 2026 - A labour leader, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, has advised President Bola Tinubu to stop behaving like an emperor.
Emelieze, who doubles as the National Coordinator of the All
Workers Convergence (AWC), made this declaration in a statement on Sunday.
The labour leader, in the statement, explained that
Nigerians under Tinubu’s administration are facing serious economic and social
crises.
Emelieze further stated that Tinubu’s administration has
been a source of lamentation for the majority of citizens.
He tasked the President to go online and see what Nigerians
are saying about him.
He said that problems such as insecurity occasioned by
kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes are making life unbearable for
citizens under the current administration.
He added that programmes and policies of the current
administration are compounding the problems being faced by citizens on a daily
basis.
He advised Tinubu to look back and consider what people
would say about him whenever he leaves office.
Speaking further, Emelieze maintained that Tinubu should
desist from acting like an emperor.
He insisted that Tinubu is merely a tenant in Nigeria’s seat
of government, Aso Rock.
He said that the President is not the landlord but a tenant
in Aso Villa.
“The summary of it all is that governance under your
leadership has been hazardous and a serious threat to our democracy. You want
to present yourself as a father figure, but your approach has not been in the
best interest of the masses. Everything about your administration points to
covert manipulations to suit an agenda best known to you. It appears you have a
secret agenda, and the driving force has been how to covertly achieve it.
“Mr President, you are overwhelmed, and the mindless
killings are enough justification for you to resign or face impeachment. If you
have a conscience, you ought to have voluntarily resigned. What is happening
now is unhygienic and equally hazardous.
“Mr President, you are not doing well at all. Your reign has
been calamitous, devastating, hellish and highly injurious to the Nigerian
people. Please go online and see what Nigerians are saying about you. As a
matter of fact, the general prayer and wish of our people now is that a leader
like you must not happen to us again. Nigerians are now saying, ‘Tinubu Must
Go’ (#TinubuMustGo).
“It is never too late; you can always amend your ways and
make corrections.
“For certain, your days are numbered in Aso Rock. You are
not going to be in Aso Rock forever, and one day you will surely vacate the
Villa. If you do not leave Aso Rock, Aso Rock will definitely leave you
someday. Please look back and consider what people will say about you when you
leave power. You can still amend your ways. Stop behaving like an emperor; you
are not a landlord in Aso Rock.”
