Wednesday, May 6, 2026 -A 45-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly killing his pregnant daughter and his wife in a violent incident in Kadoma, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Police said the suspect, identified as Obert Namurokosi, is
in custody following the deaths of his wife, Cynthia Namurokosi, 45, and their
daughter, Takudzwa Namurokosi, 23, who was heavily pregnant.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Obert Namurokosi (45) in
connection with two cases of murder which occurred on 03/05/26 in Victory Park,
Kadoma,” police said. Authorities stated that the incident began as a domestic
dispute at the family home. Cynthia reportedly left on May 2, 2026, and sought
refuge at her daughter’s residence in Victory Park.
“The suspect allegedly had a domestic dispute with his wife,
Cynthia Namurokosi (45), who sought refuge at their daughter, Takudzwa
Namurokosi (23)’s residence on 02/05/26,” the statement added.
Police said the situation escalated the following day when
the suspect allegedly tracked her to the residence. “On the following day, the
suspect reportedly followed her there, armed with a kitchen knife and attacked
both victims.”
According to the police, the daughter, who was nine months
pregnant, was attacked first. “He allegedly stabbed his daughter, who was nine
months pregnant, multiple times before turning on his wife, whom he stabbed on
the neck.”
Both victims later died from their injuries. “Both victims
succumbed to the injuries.” Police did not provide separate details about the
unborn child.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police used the incident to reiterate
concerns about domestic violence, urging peaceful conflict resolution. “No to
domestic violence and murder,” the statement said. Authorities have not yet
confirmed when the suspect will appear in court, while investigations remain
ongoing.
