Tuesday, May 5, 2026 - Five people were k!lled in a fresh attack in Fan District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, May 3, 2026
has heightened tension in the area, with residents expressing concern over the
situation.
A resident of the community, Bot James, said the victims
were ambushed while they were returning home at about 9 pm.
According to James, the gunmen fired sporadically, k!lling
the victims.
"Four persons were k!lled on the spot, while another
victim later d;ed in the hospital,” he said.
The Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang
Tengwong, also confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jos, describing the attack
as unfortunate and condemnable.
He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to
protect lives and property in the area and prevent further attacks.
