Friday, May 8, 2026 - The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man and a teenager for homos3xuality and sodomising minors.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who
disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, May 7, 2026 said the 37-year-old
suspect identified as Isah Usman, has been s3xually assaulting boys aged 15, 13
and 14 in his compound.
Similarly, the command arrested a 16-year-old boy, Yusuf
Shehu, for allegedly performing unnatural s@xual acts with a 14-year-old boy in
an uncompleted building.
According to the PPRO, the incident came to light after the
minor was seen spending money lavishly.
When questioned by his boss who is a mechanic, the minor
made the revelation, adding that said Shehu usually gives him between N2000 -
N2500 after the act.
"On 23rd April 2026 at about 3:30p.m, a report received
indicated that one Isah Usman 37yrs of Angwan Biri Area who sells honey, has
been forcefully having unnatural carnal knowledge of young boys aged 15yrs,
13yrs and 14yrs severally in his room,” the statement read.
"Further findings revealed that the suspect usually
threatens them after the act and induces them with five hundred naira each and
some honey. He was immediately arrested by Police operatives attached to Bosso
Div.
"The victims were taken to Police Clinic Minna for
medical examination which confirmed the allegation and indicated penetration,
while the suspect also confessed to the act.
"He has been transferred to SCID Minna for further
investigation after which he will be charged to court for prosecution.
"Similarly, on the 28th April 2026 at about 5:45p.m, a
report was received at GRA Division that on the same date at about 4p.m, a 14yr
old boy was seen spending money lavishly and when questioned by his boss who is
a mechanic, he revealed that one Yusuf Shehu 16yrs of Tayi village usually
gives him between two thousand and two thousand five hundred naira (#2000 -
#2500) after performing unnatural s@xual acts with him in an uncompleted
building around Tayi village.
"The suspect was immediately arrested and investigation
is ongoing to identify other victims and possible accomplices for investigation
and prosecution for unnatural offences.
“Parents/Guardians are equally advised to monitor and
protect their wards against such unnatural offences to prevent the health
implications on the victims.”
