Wednesday, April 29, 2026 - Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly invaded Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari Local Government Area of Yobe State.
According to reports, the assailants stormed the community
yesterday at about 11 p.m.
According to a resident who sought anonymity, “Boko Haram
terrorists invaded our community yesterday at about 11 pm. They burnt three
telecommunication masts, a police station, a hospital ambulance, and a primary
healthcare facility, carted away motorcycles, and snatched phones from locals.”
According to him, the assailants spent three hours operating
in the town unchallenged.
“The town currently has no telecommunication services. As we
speak, I have to go to a neighbouring community to get network service,” the
source added.
As of the time of filing this report, the army and police
have yet to issue an official statement on the reported attack.
This is the second time suspected Boko Haram terrorists have
attacked the community in less than a month, with the last attack occurring on
April 4, 2026.
