Terrorists kill Army General killed in Borno ambush




Friday, April 10, 2026 - The Brigade Commander of the Joint Task Force in Benesheikh, Brigadier-General O. Braimah, has reportedly been k!lled following a coordinated attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday night.

The assault took place at a military formation in the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. According to local sources, the insurgents stormed the base in large numbers, resulting in a fierce encounter that led to casualties on both sides, including several militants.

A social media post by one, Mallam Lawa Benesheikh said, “Innalillahi wa Inna’illaihin raji’un.

“Boko Haram has again, unfortunately, succeeded in eliminating the commanding officer of Benishiehk.

“This unfortunate incident occurred yesterday night when the insurgent stormed the military formation in numbers.“May the souls of the fallen heroes rest in peace.” He said.

Also, the Chairman of the Kaga local government area, Hon. Zanna Ajimi, confirmed the officer’s death on Thursday morning. He stated that he had recently visited the military base and verified that the brigade commander was among those who lost their lives in the engagement.

This incident follows a recent surge in insurgent activity across the northeast, despite intensified military offensives. Memorials and tributes have begun to surface on social media as the community and the military mourn the loss of the high-ranking officer and other fallen heroes.
