Monday, April 20, 2026 - A mother was accused of kicking her 4-year-old daughter out of a second-storey window, leaving the child with two broken arms in Shreveport, Louisiana, US.
According to information from the Bossier City Police
Department obtained by Law and Crime, detectives began investigating after the
victim was brought to a hospital with both wrists and forearms broken.
"After the detectives began investigating, they found
out that the mother of the child pushed her, kicked her out of the
window," Sergeant Shawn Poudrier said.
Investigators attempted to contact the victim's mother,
37-year-old Sharonica Davis, but learned that she was already in jail after
being charged with cruelty to juveniles in relation to the same window kicking
incident.
The Bossier City Police Department added an additional
charge of attempted second-degree murder, the outlet reported.
The child was placed in the care of the Department of
Children and Family Services.
"It’s a sad situation, that’s why I take this so
personal," Poudrier told KTAL.
“You know, I have three small kids, and you see, this work in
these cases takes an emotional toll on you. And you want to try to protect
every one of them that you can.
