Thursday, April 9, 2026 - A man suspected to be mentally unstable has k!lled three children, including his own son, in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The shocking domestic incident which occurred on Tuesday,
April 6, 2026 has thrown the community into grief.
The victims, all members of the same extended family, were
reportedly attacked and k!lled with a machete inside their home.
The deceased include a female student enrolled in the Joint
Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme, a young boy
identified as her cousin, and another boy said to be the biological son of the
suspected attacker.
According to preliminary information gathered from
residents, the suspect, a male relative believed to be mentally unstable,
allegedly carried out the attack earlier in the day.
"Three children from the family of Baba Agbaye were
brutally m8rdered in a shocking and tragic attack,” a distraught resident
narrated.
“The victims include a female student in JUPEB and two young
boys. Among them were Baba Agbaye’s biological daughter, the son of his elder
brother’s child, and the biological son of the suspected attacker.”
The resident said the whole community is in shock
Sources familiar with the incident said the head of the
family, Baba Agbaye, along with his wife and their youngest son, had gone to
their oil farm earlier on Tuesday.
On their way back, they reportedly encountered the suspect
heading toward the Ayeka area.
“When they met him and questioned him, he claimed he was
coming from Baba Agbaye’s house,” a resident said. They were unaware that he
had already carried out the gruesome act.”
The victims’ bodies
have since been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital, as authorities are
expected to begin investigation.
