Thursday, April 30, 2026 - Delta-based human rights activist Israel Joe has called for immediate justice following the alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl by a 30-year-old man in Sapele.
In a social media statement, Joe accused local authorities of stalling the legal process. He claimed that despite the incident being reported to the Sapele Police Division, officers have refused to charge the suspect to court, allegedly demanding money from the victim’s mother—a single parent—to proceed with the case.
The activist further alleged that even after escalating the
matter to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, the local division has yet to
arraign the suspect.
Describing the severity of the assault, Joe noted that the
physical trauma inflicted on the minor was "stomach-churning,"
claiming the injuries were so extensive that internal organs were visible. He
urged the police hierarchy to intervene and ensure the perpetrator faces the
full weight of the law without further delay.

This guy
over here in his mid-30s brutąIIƴ rąpĕd a 9 years old girl in Sapele, Delta
State. The single mother, has been going in and out of the station day in and
out seeking for justice for her daughter.
This guy has
been arrested by Sapele police since Monday 20th April and up till now has not
been charged to court with the IPO demanding monies that the mother could not
provide. Has justice become so costly at the expense of protecting the
fundamental right of the girl-child who narrowly escaped dęąth due to this
action?
I reported
this issue to the CP in a phone conversation yesterday morning the 28th of
April and made him understand that some DPOs are complicit to certain crimes by
always wanting families to settle and even not willing to charge cases of such
magnitude to court.
I do not
understand the vested interest of CSP Idoko, DPO Sapele, on this issue. The CP
called me at about 10am yesterday morning, giving the assurance that the case
would be charged to court. You have seen, dear CP, that your orders were
disobeyed, and the case was not charged with the IPO demanding monies over the
matter even after obtaining medical report and seeing how the little girl
struggled to survive.
From the
picture of the girl's private part, who would see it and not vomit or get angry
due to how it was vandalised by this íɗíøt. You could almost practically see
the girl's intestines through her private part, opened with serious tears. How
on earth would a female IPO not move with compassion, seeing such as though a
chicken's anus was removed left with only the ribs.
When Israel
Joe starts shouting angrily, I would be called from Force Headquarters. They
would tell me I have a loud, genuine, and sincere voice, and I do not need to
bring everything to social media. They would advise that I resolve it with
authorities. How has this helped in this case? How have the authorities done
the right thing by charging to court? I think silent resolve doesn't work until
it is brought up here.
My next post
would be that of the DPO, IPO, and her WhatsApp chats demanding endless monies
and refusing to deliver justice in a clear case of this disturbing issue with
prima-facie.
Force
headquarters would keep inviting me, and I will keep posting all issues. Let's
see who gets tired. The life of the 9 years old girl has been destroyed by this
guy, so why is the police compounding it?
I believe
they all saw the fate now following ASP Nuhu Usman Ogbegbe, who prefers
corruption and injustice. The DPO and IPO should prepare another petition
against me since they have refused to do the needful as if they don't have
children.''
