Groom accused of fatally shooting friend during bachelor party




Thursday, April 9, 2026 - A groom was arrested after he allegedly shot and k!lled his friend during his own bachelor party in Oklahoma, United States. 

According to a press release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and court documents, officers were called to a residential area at 1 a.m. on April 4, 2026 regarding a suspicious d3ath.

Upon arrival, the first responders reportedly discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound and made contact with 22-year-old Nolan Dain Engel, who identified himself as the shooter.

Investigators learned from Engel that he and three friends were celebrating his bachelor party at an Airbnb when they heard a knocking noise outside and saw a person's shadow. 



Engel said he fired a shot toward the shadow with a 9mm handgun before leaving the Airbnb cabin to investigate.

Engel claimed that he walked outside and found his friend, 21-year-old Braden Uhlmann, suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Uhlmann was taken to the hospital shortly after first responders arrived, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced d3ad. 

Police said that evidence gathered at the scene corroborated Engel's account of shooting Uhlmann. 

He was arrested and charged with second-degree m8rder.
