Tuesday, April 14, 2026 - The crisis in the African Democratic Congress, ADC,took a different turn today April 13 as a faction of the party in Adamawa state suspended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The chairman of the ADC faction in the state, Raji Sulaiman
Zumo, announced the suspension at a meeting with other excos of his faction of
the party.
The faction also announced it had suspended former Secretary
to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal.
The party is currently in crisis as a faction led by Nafiu
Bala Gombe is laying claim to the position of national chairman of the party.
The development prompted the decision of the Independent
National Electoral Commission, INEC, to derecognize the leadership of the ADC
under former Senate President David Mark.
