“Use toilets and public restrooms” Lagos government warns residents against open defecation




Monday, March, 9 2026 - The Lagos State Government has warned residents and visitors in the state to desist from the act of open defecation.

The government gave the warning in an advisory message posted on its Facebook page on Sunday.

The message urged residents to own their environment and keep the state clean and safe.

It read, “Together, let’s keep Lagos clean, healthy, and dignified for everyone. The Lagos State Government urges all residents and visitors to end the practice of open defecation.

“Choose health, respect, and a cleaner environment—use toilets and public restrooms.”
